Residents can continue to contract their own garbage hauler and we will update all residents on recycling and bulk within the next week.
After listening to our residents and passing a Motion on September 24th to have residents continue to manage their own garbage, our Administrator and Borough team put together specifications to receive bids for bulk pickup and recycling services. Those specs were completed and advertised on October 26th and are required by State Statute to remain open for 60 days. This opportunity to provide service to Mendham Borough was widely advertised. Bids are due December 28th.
We had concerns that we would be without service for the month of January due to the timing of the proposal and when we would be able to approve a new contract. Blue Diamond has agreed to extend their contract for the month so that we do not have a lapse in service. We are extremely grateful to them.
We are planning to approve a contract for service at our ReOrganization meeting on January 7th.
We will communicate on this page the new terms of our contract prior to that meeting.
