Update from Mendham Borough OEM

Release Date: March 06, 2018

JCP&L has been contacted directly by us and we were advised late last night that we are to expect crews to be in town today and restoring power in the neighborhoods that are still without power.  The utility company moved crews and equipment from Sussex county down to a new staging area in Randolph at CCM in which crews will be dispatched to our community. They have brought in crews from out of state and private contractors.
The damage to the circuits that supply power to specific neighborhoods - including garabrant, gunther, wilson, highfield circle, bockhoven, north linden, deerfield, franklin, townsend, bernardsville road, cherry lane, horseshoe bend, bliss, pleasant valley, have been documented, photographed and sent directly to our regional JCP&L managers and they are aware of the damage that is causing the outages and are going to repair them. We understand our fellow neighbors frustrations and we are doing all that we can to advocate for our community to the power company. We appreciate the phone calls to the OEM line and ask residents to now call if they receive their power back or if they are concerned for the welfare of another resident at 973-922-0782

The Mendham Borough library at 10 Hilltop Road is open as a warming and charging center from 10am to 8:00pm Monday - Friday and Saturdays 10:00am - 2:00pm.

Water is available at Kings in Mendham and Chester Shoprite per JCP&L for those that are still without power.

The Mendham Health and Racquet club has opened their facility for residents without power to be able to shower and warm up. Their hours are 5:30am-10:00pm weekdays and 8:00am -6:00pm weekends. Call them at 973-543-4900 for more information. Bring your own soap, shampoo and towels.

With the impending next winter snow storm tomorrow. We ask that residents make any preparations that they feel are necessary. Our public works will do what they can do to keep our roads open.

If you have wires down on your driveways or property and have a snow plow contractor, please let them know ahead of the storm so they don't further damage the circuits.

As always do not drive around barricaded roads and stay away from downed power lines as they may be energized and can have a fatal outcome if they are touched."

Thanks,
