Message from Mendham Borough OEM

Release Date: March 08, 2018

Good Afternoon,
We have weathered a significant storm. We estimate that we received 18 inches of snow in a 9 hour period. Conditions had reached blizzard status during the storm.  This made travel on all roads in the region dangerous and nearly impossible yesterday. As a result JCPL crews were unable to work during the storm.

We have just wrapped up a county wide conference call with the other oem coordinators, county oem staff and JCP&L representatives.

Currently there are 50,000 customers without power in Morris county. 700 being in Mendham Borough or about 30% of the town.
JCP&L has advised us that they have crews working in the area and they have been spotted  working in town. JCP&L's own crews will repairing road closures and restoring critical infrastructure. The outside state and private contractor crews will be making repairs in the commercial and residential areas. They have advised us that the JCP&L website is accurate as it is tied directly in with their outage ticket system. It may have a 15 minute delay.

To report an outage, as all residents who are without power should do by calling JCP&L directly at 1-888-544-4877 (1-888-LIGHTSS)
or via text using your mobile phone, text REG to 544487 (LIGHTS) to get started.
You'll need your 12-digit account number and your ZIP Code.
For more information on reporting an outage or monitoring current outages visit http://outages.firstenergycorp.com/nj.html
We appreciate the calls we have received on the OEM voicemail and the postings to our facebook page and have provided that information to JCP&L as well to help with the restoration process. Your messages have been heard and we ask that you notify us when you have your power turned back on or have a non-emergency concern at 973-922-0782
