Message from the Mayor

Release Date: March 17, 2020

Dear residents and business owners, here is an update on what your local government has been doing regarding COVID-19 and our preparations.
Our OEM team has been meeting since the end of January to prepare. Our primary responsibility is to make sure we can continue to provide essential services for our town. They continue to work tirelessly and deserve our thanks, which includes our Police Department, First Aid Squad, Fire Department, and all of our government services.
Our First Responders ask that you exercise caution and if you do need to call 911 to please let the dispatchers know if you have any flu like symptoms.
We have been enacting a plan to communicate directly with our most vunerable population. Our First Responders have been delivering fliers with basic information to all residents 60 and above; they are well trained and have been delivering them in a safe manner.
We know that residents are eager to be of assistance, especially to our older residents. We ask that you not go knocking on doors. We have set up an email address to assist anyone directly who may be struggling. COVID19@mendhamnj.org has been distributed to residents on this flyer.
What can you do to help your neighbors? Checking in through phone calls is the best way. Call your neighbors and ask how they are doing.
If you have concerns about a neighbor reach out to us here at the Borough so we can let our First Responders handle in a safe manner.
Sincerely,
Christine Serrano Glassner, Mayor
