TAX COLLECTOR – PART TIME – MENDHAM BOROUGH seeks a part time Certified Tax Collector. Responsible for all statutory duties including maintenance, collection, accounting of tax accounts, management of online bill pay for taxes. Approximately 1,900-line items. Works closely with CFO and reports to CFO and Administrator. Position is established for the Tax Collector to work remotely. Lap top computer with remote access provided. Requires set minimum once a week office hours (2-4 hours) for resident appointments /walk-ins. Tax Collector Office phone calls are forwarded to the Tax Collector’s e-mail and must be returned within 24 hours, preferably the same day. All applicants must be a New Jersey State Certified Tax Collector. Minimum of 3 years’ experience preferred but may consider less. Applicants must have strong customer service, math and analytical skills with working knowledge of all legal requirements for tax collection, reporting, tax lien sales and redemptions. Must have the ability to work independently and remotely. Experience with Vital software preferred.
