New Jersey American Water is about to begin a $1.9 million investment project along West Main Street in Mendham Borough from Mountain Avenue to Ralston Hill Road in Mendham Township. This project will replace two aging cast iron water mains. The project includes installation of approximately 5,700 feet of 16-inch ductile iron pipe. The successful completion of this project will improve water service reliability, reduce service disruptions and increase water flows for household consumption as well as firefighting. The project represents a critical investment for the company in support of our commitment to provide customers with high-quality, reliable water service. The project will be completed by a qualified pipe contractor, Montana Construction. As our neighbor and valued customer, we wanted to provide you with information on this investment project and address any questions you may have.

Start/End Dates/Work Hours
Weather permitting; New Jersey American Water’s contractor will begin work the week of February 16.  Signs will be posted at least one week before work will begin. Evening and weekend work is not expected for this project, unless directed by the local agencies. Please know our contractor will work to complete this important project as quickly as possible.
