The application window is now open for the 2024 camp season! The window will close on March 8, 2024.

 

Are you looking to have fun in the sun while making a child's summer memorable?  Have you worked with children in some capacity or hope to do so in the future?  Do you possess the traits below?  If so, consider applying to be a counselor this summer!  

Necessary traits of a Mendham Borough Day Camp Counselor: 

—  Reliable – punctual, follows through on tasks, and ready to work daily

—  Positive and helpful– shows initiative, makes his/herself useful, displays enthusiasm and genuine interest, gets involved in activities with the children, takes job seriously but not themselves (does not mind getting goofy), acts as a teammate, presents his/herself on online social forums (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) in a manner that is socially appropriate and would not be offensive to children and families of children attending.

—  Communicates effectively – understands the difference between constructive criticism and griping, cares about outward appearance, knows when to speak up and knows when to listen

 

—  Altruistic and goal-orientated – good work ethic – puts ego aside for the common good of the children and the program (remember this job is about the children)our mandatory 

 

If you are age 14 or older at the start of camp season (our mandatory training session on June 2^nd, 2024), and desire to leave an impact in the lives of children WE WANT YOU!

To Apply:

• Read through the Staff Manual thoroughly to note job expectations.
• The Mendham Borough Day Camp hiring window is open from the first of the year to the last day of the first week of March. 
• Note, it is preferred that you will be available for 4 out of our 6 weeks of work. The following dates are tentative and as follows:

​Week 1: June 24^th - June 28^th 

Week 2: July 1^st - July 5^th (closed, July 4^th)

Week 3: July 8^th - July 12^th 

Week 4: July 15^th - July 19^th 

Week 5: July 22^nd - July 26^th 

Week 6: July 29^th - August 2^nd 

• Note that you MUST be available to attend MANDATORY training, Sunday morning, June 2^nd.

• Remit application and all other required information should be submitted by the last day of February.
