Schooleys Mountain Road Closure Begins July 21 in Washington Township
Gas Main Installation Weekdays Through Mid-September
Beginning Monday, July 21, Schooleys Mountain Road (County Route 517) will be closed between Newburgh Road and Route 57 in Washington Township for gas main installation.
Work is scheduled to take place Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and is expected to continue through mid-September, weather permitting.
Detours will be in place for both northbound and southbound traffic:
Northbound Detour on Schooleys Mountain Road
- Turn left onto Newburgh Road.
- Turn right on to Route 57.
- Continue straight to the intersection with Schooleys Mountain Road (end of detour).
Southbound Detour on Mountain Avenue/Route 182/Schooleys Mountain Road
- Turn right onto Route 57.
- Turn left onto Newburgh Road.
- Continue straight to the intersection of with Schooleys Mountain Road (end of detour).
The project is being managed by Elizabethtown Gas and performed by Skoda Contracting Company.
