PLEASE BE ADVISED The Governor’s Office has declared a State of Emergency and a Flood Advisory effective as of 2:00 PM today in connection with the significant weather event impacting our region. Be safe!

🚨 STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARED – JULY 31, 2025 @ 2PM

Greetings from the Morris County Office of Emergency Management’s Emergency Operations Center.

A State of Emergency has been declared across all 21 NJ counties in preparation for severe thunderstorms, flash flooding, and damaging wind gusts. A Flood Watch remains in effect through late tonight.

A Flash Flood Warning has been issued until later this evening.

🌧️ What to Expect:

• Statewide rainfall totals of 1–3 inches, with localized amounts up to 5–7 inches

• Potential for flash flooding, rockslides, and flooded roadways

• Wind gusts up to 50 mph and small hail

• Torrential rain currently between North Branch and Stirling, pushing south of Madison

⚠️ Travel Advisory:

• Weather conditions can change quickly. It may appear clear locally, but flooded roads and dangerous storms could be ahead. Please check conditions before traveling.

🚨 Response Preparedness:

• We’re coordinating with the Morris County Sheriff's Office, Morris County Communications Center, Morris County Government, Morris County Mutual Aid Fire Coordinators, local FD Chiefs to stage certified water rescue teams for potential deployment in Morris or neighboring counties.
