The Borough of Mendham Summer Day Camp Head Counselors 2026

The application window is open from January 1st-February 28th for the 2026 camp season

The Borough of Mendham is seeking seasonal Mendham Day Camp Head Counselors for the 2026 Summer Day Camp season. Head Counselors are the primary contact with group counselors and their campers. Ideal candidates are reliable, positive and helpful, communicative, and goal oriented.

Camp season is from June 22- July 31, Monday – Friday (excluding July 3), from 9:00 am – 12:30 pm. Head counselors are expected to arrive by 8:15 am Monday, 8:30 am Tuesday – Thursday, and 8:00 am Friday.

Head Staff duties include but are not limited to: Set up areas and events before campers arrive; Carry a charged radio at all times; Plan and carry out daily assignments; Join the Camp Director at Morning Circle; Check head counts when groups arrive at special events/assigned stations; Complete 2-3 head counts per hour; Assist Group Counselors with camper injuries and other emergency situations; Relay counselor infractions to the Camp Director; Oversee daily group check-in and check-out procedures; Break down all station and activity areas at the end of camp; Make sure all morning and afternoon side work is complete. All must remain until it is finished.

• It is required that you are available to work at least 4 full weeks out of the 6-week camp. The following dates are as follows:
  • Week 1: June 22nd- June 26th
  • Week 2: June 29- July 2nd (No Friday, July 3rd)
  • Week 3: July 6th- July 10th 
  • Week 4: July 13th- July 17th
  • Week 5: July 20th- July 24th
  • Week 6: July 27th- July 31st
