GENERAL ELECTION TIMELINE
Election Day: Tuesday, November 4, 2025
- September 20 – Mailing of Mail-in Ballots for the General Election begins.
- October 14 –
- Deadline to register to vote for the General Election.
- Last day to file applications for the appointment of Challengers with the County Board of Elections.
- October 22 – Sample Ballots mailed.
- October 25 – November 2 – Early Voting Period for in-person early voting.
- October 28 – Deadline to apply by mail for a Mail-in Ballot (for voters who moved within Morris County or did not receive their ballot).
- November 3, by 3:00 p.m. – Deadline to apply in person for a Mail-in Ballot (for voters who moved within Morris County or did not receive their ballot).
- November 4 – General Election Day
- Polls open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Mail-in Ballots must be returned to the Board of Elections or deposited in an Official Ballot Drop Box by 8:00 p.m.
- Mail-in Ballots sent by U.S. Postal Service must be postmarked on or before November 4 and received by November 10.
- Mail-in Ballots sent by U.S. Postal Service without a postmark must be received by the Board of Elections by November 6.
