The American Rescue Plan (ARP) is offering financial assistance to help customers pay past-due gas and electric bills, even if they already receive assistance; and, I was advised that they may qualify for up to $13,000 for past due balances (up to $8,000 for heating and up to $5,000 for non-heating accounts).

To apply, customers should call 844 – 930 - 1778 or visit NJ Department of Community Affairs, dcaid.dca.nj.gov., and  at the PSE&G customer service centers through June 30, 2022:

• Newark, 80 Park Plaza, La Casa De Don Pedro representatives available: Monday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

• West Orange, 59 Main Street, La Casa de Don Pedro representatives will be available soon
