Message from the Mayor – Power Outage and Road Closures Updates
Over the past several days, the Mayor’s Office has been working to address calls and emails from residents who are still without power. If your home is still without electricity, please email your address to mboem@mendhamnj.org. We will personally contact JCP&L to make sure your outage has been identified and to see what can be done to help move restoration forward. If you already notified us, there is no need to do so again, as your outage has been reported to JCP&L. As of this evening, areas near Galway, Demarest, and Talmage have had power restored.
All major roads and almost all roadways within the Borough have been at least partially reopened to traffic, but utility crews continue their restoration and clean-up efforts. Please use caution when driving throughout the Borough.
Please remember to always report your outage directly to JCP&L. You can report an outage by:
- Clicking the link at the bottom of the Mendham Borough Website Home Page
- Calling 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877)
- Using the "Report Outage" feature on the JCP&L/FirstEnergy website
- Texting "OUT" to 544487
I know this has been a difficult time for many residents, and I appreciate your continued patience as utility crews work to restore service throughout our community.
To stay informed during emergencies and other important Borough events, I encourage all residents to sign up for Nixle alerts and the Borough's Email Notification System through the Borough website. These services provide timely updates on road closures, public safety information, and other important announcements.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we continue working through the recovery process.
Mayor Jim Kelly
