Message From the Mayor: Storm Recovery
Dear Residents and Businesses,
It has been a long few days for Mendham Borough following last week’s storm, and I am grateful to share that Tempe Wick Road is now open.
Over the past several days, I have seen firsthand the dedication, professionalism, and steady commitment of the people who serve our community. I want to extend my sincere thanks to our Department of Public Works, Police Department, Fire Department, First Aid Squad, Office of Emergency Management, Borough staff, and the many employees and volunteers who worked through difficult conditions to keep residents safe, clear roads, respond to emergencies and power outages, and help restore access throughout town.
I also joined other mayors whose communities were impacted by the storm on a call with the Governor’s Office to request state assistance. Unfortunately, the Governor has declined to declare a state of emergency for the counties affected by the storm, which means state aid is not available at this time.
While this is disappointing, Mendham Borough will continue to do everything we can at the local level to support our residents, address storm-related impacts, and advocate for our community.
Please note that our DPW crews are still working throughout the Borough to clean up storm debris. If you have any storm-related concerns or questions, please contact the Department of Public Works at dpw@mendhamnj.org.
Most of all, I want to thank our residents for your patience, understanding, and neighborly spirit during these challenging days. Moments like this remind us of the strength of our hometown and the people who make Mendham Borough such a special place.
Thank you again to everyone who helped our community recover.
— Mayor Jim Kelly
