Dear Mendham Residents,

Car thefts and burglaries have been steadily on the rise throughout Morris County over the past few years, and Mendham Borough has seen our share of these incidents. Our Mendham Borough Police Department is a part of the Morris County Auto Theft Task Force working to reduce these thefts. They need our help! Here’s what we all need to be doing every evening to send a message to these thieves that Mendham is not a place worth their time.

• LOCK YOUR CAR - every night
• Keep your car locked during the day – thefts happen in the daytimes as well
• Remove your purse, wallet, and all valuables
• Remove your garage door opener
• If your car has a lot of visible items in it remove them, not a good place to store holiday gifts
• TAKE YOUR KEY OR FOB!
• Remind your young drivers of the need to lock up
• Neighbors can watch out for neighbors, let’s help each other
• Report a suspicious person or activity by calling 911
